Will’s favorite all time book series, Dune by Frank Herbert comes to the big screen FINALLY in a much better way than the 1980s version did. Hear our thoughts.

Tonight’s cocktails:
Pear Elderflower Martini
(from: https://kitchenswagger.com/pear-elderflower-martini-recipe/)
- 2 ounces pear vodka (Grey goose La Poire is definitely best. I tried the Absolute Pear for a while and there really is no comparison.)
- 1/2 ounce St. Germain Elderflower Liquer
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with some ice. Shake well. Strain into glass. Garnish with a slice of pear if you’d like, but I never have pears on hand, so I rarely do that.
Will’s Favorite Martini
- 2 ounces Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey
- 1 ounce Dolin Rouge Sweet Vermouth (the red one)
- 2 drops (DROPS not dashes) Angostura bitters
- 1 drop (again DROP) Orange bitters
- Luxardo Original Maraschino Cherries (not those hot mess super red cherries you can buy anywhere)
I usually start with the bitters because if you get too much it make the whole drink WAY too bitter. This way, If I get too much in, I start over. Add in the Whiskey and Vermouth. Add 2 cherries, plus just a little of the syrup they come in. Stir gently. (Sorry Bond, no shaking here.) Traditional is without ice (neat), but add a cube or 2 of ice if you prefer. When we have them, we use the large slow melting ice spheres.
